error cannot find the path

  1. Select Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Security > Virus & threat protection.
  2. Under Virus & threat protection settings, select Manage settings.
  3. Under Controlled folder access, select Manage Controlled folder access.
  4. Switch the Controlled folder access setting to Off.

I can't reproduce this on any of my WIn 10 computers, or at least 7 of the 15 I manage. Controlled Folder Access is toggled on, with all.

@ralphza What version Windows are you on? Hit Start, type winver, and hit enter.

Does MSInfo32 (System Information viewer) complete? Can you zip and attach the MSInfo32.nfo file from the Sysnative folder?

Could you please attach in your next post? I would also suggest reverting your folder access settings back too.

Well, I got sysnative running since I turned off folder protection. Though I understand that others have it running even with folder protection on.

So now I see it creates a zip file. (which perhaps it couldn't before). The zip file has msinfo32.nfo which shows the windows version as msinfo32 does.

The windows version is Windows 10 Home, Version 10.0.18363 build 8363

Anyhow, as mentioned, turning folder protection off for the purposes of running it, got it working.

Looking at protected folders list, it mentions documents so I see that windows defender would've blocked it

So maybe on other versions of windows 10 it doesn't include the Documents folder in the list of folders in windows defender "folder protection". (hence somebody says that for them when they toggle folder protection on/off, sysnative still works)?

But to be clear, I run sysnative fine, though by disabling windows defender folder protection just for it to run. (and enabling it again after).

Is there anything I can do re this?
I tried loading memory.dmp into windbg and it said "CRITICAL_STRUCTURE_CORRUPTION (109)" but didn't mention a driver.. i'm not sure if it did mention a driver before but I changed a setting re the symbol file and now it can't find a symbol file for the problem.

There are some old drivers on your system that might be worth trying to update:

VX1000.sys Wed Oct 7 02:49:19 2009 (4ACBF39F)
Microsoft LifeCam VX1000driver http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/download/download.aspx?category=ICE
http://www.sysnative.com/drivers/driver.php?id=VX1000.sys

speedfan.sys Sat Dec 29 20:59:35 2012 (50DF59B7)
SpeedFan Download SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer

iaStorA.sys Mon Oct 28 21:15:26 2013 (526ED3EE)
Intel RST (Rapid Storage Technology) driver Drivers & Software XP
http://www.sysnative.com/drivers/driver.php?id=iaStorA.sys

Thanks.

I don't see "speedfan" listed in device manager, or services.msc

I see it mentioned in sysnative's driveqv.txt as "running"

I don't see an option to remove or update it, though I could remove the speedfan program. I wonder if there is a way to select the driver itself in windows?

For iaStorA.sys where is that in device manager?

This link Download Intel® Rapid Storage Technology (Intel® RST) User Interface and Driver mentions Download Intel® Rapid Storage Technology Driver Installation Software with Intel® Optane™ Memory which mentions "Note: Intel recommends that end users utilize driver updates provided by their system manufacturer/provider or via Windows Update to eliminate the potential impact caused by loading non-customized drivers. System manufacturers regularly customize Intel generic drivers to meet the needs of their specific system design. In such cases, use of the Intel generic driver update is not recommended. "

Looking at HP Compaq 8200 Elite Small Form Factor PC Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support I don't see anything related to iaStorA.sys or Intel RST technology.

As for the microsoft lifecam.. it's a webcam with an inbuilt mic. If I plug it in then in device manager it shows "usb device", under "sound video and game controllers". And if I right click it and go to properties, it doesn't show an old driver, and I don't see anything about vx1000.sys there

Looking at driveqv.txt, that they are quite old like 2012 and 2013. I notice that file also has this process running "25/05/2015 amdkmpfd.sys "
. Would 2015 be too old too?

I think Speedfan.sys is loaded by the program so there may not be an update if the program itself has not been updated. You will not find it associated with a device.

The Intel RST is usually part of the Motherboard Chipset driver package and will not be separately listed.

The VX1000.sys was probably introduced with the Win7 drivers for the Lifecam and may just be getting installed by a left over registry key. I usually investigate this sort of thing with Autoruns which lets you see everything that gets loaded when Windows starts.
