[SOLVED] Error 800B0100 with two small updates

Hi

This is a fresh windows installation 4-5 months old (Windows 7 Ultimate x86 Sp1), the updates were running fine till I updated on 29th I found windows update stuck on 0% , I tried the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution method and updates worked again. Now I am stuck with 2 updates which fail everytime. See images:

I get the error code : 800B0100

Steps taken to fix the problem so far:
1. Disabled Antivirus (Eset smart Security) failed update.
2.Fix WU - failed update
3.System update readiness tool - failed updated.
4.Stopped cryptographic service , renamed catroot folder - failed update
5.SfcFix - failed update

So I finally reached the conclusion I need manual help.

Please do the following:

System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) Replacement

Warning: This fix is intended for use on this particular machine. Do not use this fix on any other machine; doing so may cause damage to your Operating System. If you are not the original poster and require assistance, please start your own topic.

  • Download View attachment Packs.zip and save this file to your Desktop.
  • Right-click the file and click Extract All....
  • Place a checkmark next to Show extracted files when complete and click Extract.
  • A window will open showing two folders, Manifests and Packages.
  • Open the Manifests folder and copy the files into the following folder:

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests

  • Open the Packages folder and copy the files into the following folder:

    C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

  • Re-run the System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) as you did before.
  • Upon completion, copy the contents of the SURT log found at C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log and paste in your next reply.

  • Press the Windows Key

    + r on your keyboard at the same time. Type Notepad and click OK.
  • Copy the bold lines below and paste into the Notepad document:

    sfc /scannow

    del %0

  • Click Format. Ensure Wordwrap is unchecked.
  • Click File, Save As and name the file sfcscannow.bat.
  • Select All Files as the Save as type. Save the file to your Desktop.
  • Locate sfcscannow.bat

    Run as administrator.
  • Upon completion, a file (CBS.txt) will be created on your Desktop. Attach this file in your next reply.

Your logs look good. Please rerun Windows Update. Check for and attempt to install available updates, and let me know if any fail.

Thanks for the quickfix. One update was installed successfully, other one is still there after rebooting, I have attached relevant update history images, please have a look :

Hello,

The error code 0x8024200D is usually resolved by manually installing the update. Please download the installer for KB3022777 and save the file to your Desktop. Run the installer, and let me know if installation is successful. If unsuccessful, please provide the following logs straight after:

  • C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log
  • C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log
