Hey, thank you for your reply :)
It gives me a message "Destination Folder Access Denied: You need permission to perform this action" while I try to paste the files into Manifest or Packages folder. Can access the folder but can't paste files.
My account has administrator rights, tried to take ownership in Security->Owner and Replace owner on subcontainers and objects checkbox but didn't help.

Modify File/Folder Permissions

  1. Navigate to C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSUR\WinSxS\Manifests, right-click on it and select Properties
  2. Under the Security tab, click Advanced.
  3. Under the Owner tab, click Edit.
  4. Click "Other Users and Groups".
  5. Click Advanced.
  6. Click "Find Now".
  7. Scroll down and double click on Everyone.
  8. Click OK THREE times.
  9. Click on the Permissions tab.
  10. Under type Deny, single click on any entries and click Remove. (N.B.: There may not be any Deny entries, in which case just ignore this step. Just remove any that do exist)
  11. Click OK.
  12. Click Edit (now on the standard file Property window under the Security tab).
  13. Click Add.
  14. Click Advanced.
  15. Click "Find Now".
  16. Scroll down and double click on Everyone.
  17. Click OK.
  18. Single click on Everyone and then tick the "Full Control" box under Allow.
  19. Click OK TWO times.

Now try copying the manifest files from the zip. If this works, repeat the process for the packages folder.

Agh, did everything as you said but still can't paste the files, same message.
Btw. I have those folders under C:\Windows\servicing\Packages and C:\Windows\winsxs\Manifests idk if it makes any difference?
Thanks for your time.

Ah, yes the folder path is very important. The folders we want to copy files into must be exactly:

C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Winsxs\Manifests
C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSur\Servicing\Packages

These are the folders that SURT uses to source files.
If those folders don't exist, please create them and then copy the files from the zip into those folders and run SURT again.

If these were the exact folders that you were attempting to copy the files into, try restarting into Safe Mode and then try copying the files again.

Ups sorry my bad, I had no CheckSur folder inside Temp so I get confused. Ok, so I created new folders, everything as you said and here is a new SURT log:

Looks like it fixed something. Should I be fine now to try install SP1 via Windows Update?

Looks like SURT is happy now.

Try the SP1 installation. If it fails, zip and attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log

I don't know what happened and why, everything worked well for 3 days but.. today I run my PC and I'm stuck at black screen with cursor and nothing happens, can't log into my account to get to desktop, nothing. Can't click anything, nothing works. I tried safe mode and it works. Several hours i'm trying to fix it searching in internet but nothing helps, already tried many solutions and uninstalling graphics drivers too. Can't resore cuz it says I have no restore points I don't know why cuz I did few days ago. Yesterday I installed some KB updates, new drivers and did HD defragmentation and a lot of registry cleaning and other stuff like that but it worked till today, I shut down my computer normally as always. I don't know what to do, can't find anything more on internet ;/ My registry key (explorer.exe) is ok. Did /sfc scan etc. Did startup repair but it could not fix it. Here is the raport:

Prob event name: StartupRepairOffline
Prob signature 01: 6.1.7600.16385
Prob signature 02: 6.1.7600.16385
Prob signature 03: unknown

Prob signature 06: 1
Prob signature 07: NoRootCause
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1045

I also found sth like that: "
Apparently it's an issue with an automatic update that never quite got past the login screen."

Appreciate any help.

Try running SFC in Safe Mode, then upload the CBS log.

SFC Scan

  1. Click on the Start
    Start%20Orb.jpg
button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log %userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt

  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please zip and attach this to your next post.

I decided to install a new system cuz I did some strange things trying to fix my previous one. Downloaded ISO with SP1 already installed so should be fine. Anyway thank you for your help :)
