A while back I ran Disk Cleanup, and delete old Windows Update files. I guessing this is what started it.
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate x64
I can't install KB4503292. I get an error number 80073701.
I've ran chkdsk which finished without error.
I've installed Malwarebytes, ran the default scan which came up clean.
I've run sfcfix and SURT, please find logs attached.
The CBS log is huge. CBS.zip - AnonFile
Many thanks for your attention and effort to my issues.
Due to the precise nature of your corruption, you will receive help from a user named writhziden. He's one of our senior trainees here who's in his final phase of his studies and needs to gain some real world experience in specific areas of Windows Update. This means that he'll be assisting you, but that I will first need to double check and approve his fixes before he posts them to you. If anything this is a good thing for you because it means that you've got at least two of us watching over your thread, but it will unfortunately add a slight delay between each reply. I hope that you understand and can accept the need for us to train up new members in this way in order to carry on doing what we do here, however, if for any reason you object to this setup, I will happily take on your thread myself.
Thank you very much for your understanding. We'll be with you very shortly.
I'd be humbly thankful to be a part of writhziden's final phase of training. I also appreciate the quick reply, and I look forward to progressing.
Thanks a bunch.
Hello! Thank you for your patience while we worked on a fix for your update error. Below are the recommended steps to resolve the issues.
Step 1 Run SFCFix with the included SFCFix.zip archive
WARNING! The following fix is specific to the user's system in this thread only and may be harmful to apply to another system. If you came across this thread and have a similar issue, start your own thread by following the Windows Update Forum Posting Instructions
Download using the link to SFCFix.zip (see the next step for the link) and save it on your desktop.
When it asks you if you wish to install, please answer Yes. Note: It could take several hours to run. Please don't cancel it.
You will get an Installation Complete screen when it's done running.
Please attach the log from the following location. C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log
Please Note:: if the file is too big to upload to your next post, please upload via Sendspace and just provide the link here.
Step 3 SFC Scan
Click on the Start button/screen and in the search box, type Command Prompt
When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator. Allow any User Account Control box that appears.
When the command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, and press enter.
sfc /scannow
Once the command finishes, if you see "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations" then the problems are fixed and no need to continue. Otherwise, see Step 4
Step 4 Export/Upload your CBS log file
You only need to do this if sfc /scannow still reported corruption:

Thank you for waiting for my go ahead. We are almost there, but there is still more to do. The previous fix took care of the majority of the corruption you are facing, but a second fix will be necessary before trying updates again. We will manage this fix similar to the last one, so again wait until I analyze the next set of logs before installing updates. This time there are only two steps:

Download using the link to SFCFix.zip (see the next step for the link) and save it on your desktop.
I get the error: "You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action." when I click on the sfcfix.zip. I tried relogging in just in case, but I get the same. No worries, I"ll be here.
All looks good with your logs. Go ahead and see how things go with updating.
If updating fails, please provide your CBS log Text Document file as before:

I did get a failure. I'm currently running SURT, and I realized you didn't ask me to, I apologize.
Here's the zip (cbs.log is 405 megs in size, I'm glad text compressed well)
Hey, just wanted to let you know we have not forgotten about you. We are currently working on the next phase of fixes for your system. The next phase requires me to go through a little training, but hopefully I will post back within the next 48 hours with some additional steps. Thank you for being patient in the meantime.
Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop. Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
Copy and paste KB4493472 into the Search box and click the Search Registry button.
When the scan is complete a notepad window will open with the results. Please attach this to your next reply. It is saved on your desktop named SearchReg.txt.
FRST Fix NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop. Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
Download the attached fixlist.txt and save it to the Desktop. Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.
Try to install updates again, and if any fail, attach the CBS.log.
