Is it possible to fix this? Does anyone have any ideas on what to do next?

Hello,

FRST Scan:
  1. Download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:
64-bit: Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool
  2. Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
  3. Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
  4. Press the Scan button.
  5. Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
  6. Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Thank you for having a look for me. See FRST.txt and Addition.txt attached as requested.

There are remnants of LogMeIn. Do you still use that ?

Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.
  1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
  3. Press the Fix button.
  4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
  5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
  6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
  7. Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.

Sorry, I thought I had posted the above log on Saturday, but I must have just uploaded the file and not clicked Post Reply.

Check for driver updates for device Brother MFL-Pro Suite MFC-9335CDW.
If no updates available, uninstall it completely.

There are no driver updates since 2016. I have uninstalled the Brother software suite, and unplugged the USB cable that runs from the printer to the computer.

What next? Do I try the upgrade again now?

Hi,
You can close this thread now.
I was able to upgrade to Windows 10 with the printer unplugged, but then the recent KB5001330 update bug started BSOD'ing the PC, and I was half way through the printer install at the time, which has broken Brother Utilities. It has become a mess.
We've decided to just go for a new PC and printer now and start again.
Thanks for all your help.

Good choice. Windows 7 was installed almost 10 years ago on this machine and due to this age Windows 10 may not run smoothly.

Good luck and take care.

Thanks for the donation. (y)
