It started with not being able to install/upgrade .net framework while installing sourcetree. I have seen several errors so far but running the tests as described gives me the above mentioned error. My SSD is a Crucial and I have run Crucial Storage Executive and updated the firmware.

Updating is not an issue anymore. I have installed 1909 successfully. No other problems with updating. Just can't install a program called Sourcetree. It says that the .net framework can't be installed. Can you help me with that also? Anyway you are awesome. Thanks for the help. Even on Christmas!

What I did so far:

On installing Sourcetree the system reports that .net framework has to be installed.
(I thought it was shipped with w10).
On trying to install .net framework I only get the message :
Annotation 2019-12-27 121233.png

tried to install .net framework 4.5 manually:
it says:
Annotation 2019-12-27 121612.png

So I ran windows features control panel.
1577445494105.png

check the top 3 checkboxes and save.
Windows says: Windows completed the requested changes.
Reopening windows features control panel shows not-checked checkboxes. (not good I suppose).

Installing Sourcetree again gives still same error.

I am on Windows 10 Pro. Version 1909. 64bit. OS build 18363.535

Not SFCFix. SFC Scan:

SFC Scan

  1. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  2. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator
  3. When command prompt opens, copy and paste the following commands into it, press enter after each

    sfc /scannow

Wait for this to finish before you continue

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  4. This will create a file, cbs.txt on your Desktop. Please attach this to your next post.

Good.

Step#1 - DISM /RestoreHealth Scan
Warning:this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Right-click on the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter
    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
  3. Once it finishes, copy and paste the following into the command-prompt window and press Enter. If prompted to overwrite the existing file go ahead.
    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\cbs.txt"
  4. Once this has completed please go to your Desktop and you will find CBS.txt => Please zip/upload to this thread.
Please Note:: if the file is too big (over 7MB) to upload to your next post, please upload via a service such as Dropbox or One Drive or SendSpace and just provide the link.

This is what I see when I start the windows features control panel:

I assume the top three checkboxes should be "checked" ?
