I literally have the exact same problem as the guy in this forum: [SOLVED] - Error 0x800700c1 When Attempting to Update Windows
To reiterate the issue:
When I try to install an update it fails and I get an error called 0x800700c1.
Like the guy in the forum,
"sfc /scannow"
Gives the error:
Windows Resource Protection could not start the repair service.
Also,
"DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth"
Gives the error:
Error: 193
%1 is not a valid Win32 application.
Errors in the DISM log file are pretty much identical to the guy in the forum.
It seems the only solution is to upgrade Windows via Media Installation Tool but when I try to do this, I get to the installation stage and it fails installation at around the 60% mark
The guy in the forum had the same issue with Windows installation and it was fixed following this:
The only thing stopping me from giving this a go is the Warning message about the fix being specific to the user.
Is it possible to get an SFCFix.zip that would work on my pc in that case?
