I know the prevailing wisdom is to just reinstall at this point, but that feels like giving up and I ain't no quitter! Any assistance will be greatly appreciated!

I have also tried DISM with a mounted install ISO (that's a funny image that lives rent free in my head now) as the source to no avail.

Forgot to mention, this is for a Windows 10 Pro machine with the 22H2 update.

Hi and welcome to Sysnative,

Step 1. Download

SFCFix and save it to your desktop.

Warning: This fix was written specifically for this system. Do not run this fix on another system.
  • Save any work you have open, and close all programs.
  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.
  • Drag the SFCFix.zip file over the SFCFix.exe executable and release it.

  • SFCFix will launch, let it complete.
  • Once done, a file will appear on your desktop, called SFCFix.txt.
  • Post the logfile (SFCFix.txt) as attachment in your next reply.

Step 2. Run the following DISM command and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

I'm still running it through it's paces, but that seems to have done the trick. Thank you! How would one go about learning these dark magiks?

Hi,

You're welcome. Please let me know if there are any remaining issues or everything is up and running again.

Updates are current, SFC and DISM complete without errors, and things seem to be back to normal. The issue that led to me finding this problem ended up being something else, but I was able to fix that on my own and is outside the scope of the Windows Updates forum. Thank you for your help!
