Hello - I found this site trying to solve a duplicate account user issue - this post solved appears to have solved the problem for another user. Attached is my CSB file.

Issue: On startup (Win10 Pro 64), I'm now prompted with a User/Password error and it looks like I have a duplicate User Account (I recently changed Computer Name, which may be the culprit).

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks - Adam

Hi,

Most likely you have setup Windows to do auto-login and now with computer the name change this is failing.

Can you revert the process, restart the computer and then enable auto-login again?

To Turn Off the Password Entry Requirement under Win8 or Win10

One can, of course, reverse the process, too. Even though I wrote up those instructions for my blind and visually-impaired clients, I try to dissuade them from using them. It is far better to get yourself used to presenting a credential, be it PIN, Password, fingerprint, etc., at login. And if you are someone who prefers a password having to enter it helps you to remember it and the entry itself gets into muscle memory.

Thank you Britechguy and SleepyDude - that did the trick.

Previously, I was able to get to the User Accounts Dialogue section but the box to turn off passwords was missing (i'm the one and only Admin for my PC). But, once I did it thru elevated CMD, that box appeared. Toggled it once, restart and BINGO.

You guys rock!
