So for the past few days, I have noticed that my memory usage has slowly been increasing throughout the day and will eventually cap out at 16GB. This is even true when nothing is running and Windows doesn't show anything using more than 512MB of RAM.

After doing some research, I believe I have a memory leak on this system. I ran poolman to find out what driver is the problem one and it reported back as netio.sys, but after reading online, this driver doesn't seem to be the main fault.

Any help in finding the problem here with this memory leak would be great. Please let me know if any information is needed.

Hi Masterchiefxx17. :smile9:
You have probably already checked it: task manager, details tab; here you can choose columns to show, and there are 5 memory columns.

Thanks Xilolee. I actually did not check this.

From what I can see, it looks like MS Edge is using a lot of memory. I'm going to monitor how it does the rest of the day and will report back.

Type d in the poolmon command line to sort the allocations by difference (between total allocations minus freed memory), thus making it easier to finding the leak. Something which is leaking badly will usually have a huge value there.

Jared,

What you are seeing from my poolmon screenshot is after pressing d.

From what I can tell, Edge may not be the main problem. It still looks like I have a memory leak. Any thoughts on finding a solution? The PC is idling at 6.5GB of RAM.

Take a look at this here. Nothing, but background processes running and yet still running at 6GB!

Looks like it might be the non-paged pool? Study the Defrag Tools #6 video, it should help you find the culprit: Defrag Tools: #6 - RAMMap | Defrag Tools | Channel 9

Why is Searchui showing a minus figure for Working Set?

I'll take a look at that now.

As for SearchUI, I'm not sure. As of right now, it's showing 75K for Memory (private working set).

Do you see any common software/drivers with the system this op has?> https://www.sysnative.com/forums/wi...-until-system-starts-fail-needing-reboot.html

I believe the fault was with my Killer Networking on this Gigabyte board.

I found a few things, including these guides here:

Memoryleak Fix WINDOWS 10 (And 8/8.1) | 1080P HD 60FPS - YouTube

Memory Leak Please Help [Solved] - windows 10 memory leak - Windows 10

After disabling that registry key, the problem seems to have gone away. Non-paged pool memory is idling at 165MB right now with no signs of increasing unless beginning to open programs.
