I just put my laptop back to factory settings and when I came for the dpc issues last time tomasd said this.

There seems to be an issue with your Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 WiFi network adapter or its drivers. Please try the following:

  1. Download the latest driver from download2.dvd-driver.cz/atheros/drivers/ar5xxx/win81-10.0.0.298-whql.zip
  2. Extract the download driver package to C:\Drivers.
  3. Press WIN+R.
  4. Type devmgmt.msc and press ENTER.
  5. Find Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wireless Network Adapter under Network adapters.
  6. Right-click on the device and select Update driver software....
  7. Click Browse my computer for driver software.
  8. Enter C:\Drivers in Search for driver software in this location field.
  9. Click Next and wait for the driver to install.

I can't find that driver and that link isn't working. I tried the 4 drivers I saw. ar9485 and ar9485wb both 32 and 64 and I keep getting that the driver is up to day yet it isn't. The one that I got from that link up there last time worked before these I tried didn't.

That didn't work either :/. I still get the thing saying windows has determined the driver software for you device is up to date. Even though it has the 10.0.0.251 driver. Not the 298.

Try deleting the device from Device Manager, click Rescan for New Devices and then specify the driver you've downloaded for the device.
