Hello everyone, i was having problems with cracking realtime audio and googled around abit and saw that DPC latency might be the problem. So i ran LatencyMon and the results where really bad, its only one driver that is causing the problem.

Its Wdf01000.sys it has a constant 24 ms. Ive tried searching around the internet for this problem but its seems very difficult too find any solutions to it . All my audio drivers are up to date and the computer is fairly new. Im actully unsure of what part of the forum to post this on but since the driver is windows 10 related i though the best location was here.

Hopefully someone can help, ty in advance :) :eightstart:

As a quick sidenote, when i start my pc the dpc latency is good and wdf01000.sys is no problem whatsoever, but as time goes on it rises in ms. So im thinking it has to do with something that im using when im on my pc. Maby Skype or something like that.

thankfull for any help!

Hi Haraldmaster. :welcome:
Download and install the Windows Performance Toolkit on dev.windows.com - Windows Software Development Kit (SDK) for Windows 10 - sdksetup.exe 1.12MB (click):

Then open an elevated command prompt (right-click on the windows start button on bottom-left corner, left-click Command Prompt (Admin)) and launch these commands:

Hello, i seem to have some problems trying to do these commands, regarding the file does not exist problem i have checked for the "process monitor" etc and cant find any of those so i really dont know what is causing that problem.
and i have no idea about the one where it cannot find the path either :(

Someone please help!

ty in advance :)

Please re-try with Niemiro's code:
Code:
xperf -on DiagEasy
"Wait until the computer has gone through a period of stuttering slowness" and then:
Code:
xperf -d "%userprofile%\Desktop\trace.etl"

I still can't read modules and functions.
Maybe you are using some software that interferes with xperf...

Anyway, I'd uninstall ASUS al suite: it has got a bad reputation on internet and it shouldn't be compatible with windows 8/8.1/10.

Thank you for the response Xilolee. I really cant understand why none of the traces work. This is what im getting. Screenshot (3).jpg.

Maby Niemiro could take a look at this, im kinda stuck right now :/

just a quick note here: .... a related post from a few months ago pointed to one of the ASUS utilities meant to speed up RAM performance as causing trouble with DPC latencies ... I think the utility might simply have been called "ASUS ram" or similar.... The user with the problem turned the utility off and found improvement... The wdf**** driver seems to have a lot of functions, and gets involved in quite a few different drivers ...

Run this command from a command prompt, then post the result of it here (you'll find a txt file on your desktop):
Code:
set > %desktop%\EnvVarList.txt
Mine is:

Sorry, the command is:
Code:
set > "%userprofile%\desktop\EnvVarList.txt"
(I created the %desktop% variable to speed up the typing on the keyboard ;)).

@xilolee

Hi!
I am having similar problem as Haraldmaster in this thread.
Chipping sound and video and very high latency (storeport, ndis, scsiport and others)
I am wondering if this thread was "solved" or not?

Th/rgds

Hi sjur. :welcome:

Given the lack of response, I think no.
You can open a new thread for your problem, although these issues seems to be very hard to solve (and time consuming).

Thanks your reply xilolee.
This is indeed a very complicated matter.
I have another thread going in another (nor) forum. I'll see where this leads and might come back here.
Thanks!

Well...

Im sad for the lack of response from my side regarding the matter. I simply stopped using the email in which i recevied the messeges from sysnative. Very dissepointed at myself for not responding. Enough excuses.
Well what i simply did was to just go through all the drivers and updating them one by one. My problem if i remember correctly was something regarding the soundcard. It needed an driver update of some kind. The reason that it was becoming an issue after some time on the computer was because it was a "background" process. So i recommend you look at your backgroundprocceses. But im pretty confident that if ur getting the same sort of problems like me, it has something to do with a soundrelated driver. Note that the "automatic" update for all drivers did not update this one. But i figure u already tried that.

@Haraldmaster

Thanks your reply.

I dont have a separate soundcard, I only use the integrated sound from mother board.
I have changed and updated the drivers several times to no avail.
My problem was that BOTH sound and video would become choppy at the same time.

The last thing I did was to remove a usb blue tooth dongle from the computer.
After having done this, I have not experienced choppy sound and/or video.
However. I still have (very) high latency seemingly related to "ndis.sys" and "storeport and also a lot of hard page fault.
Thus I still feel something is not right.

Background process.
When I look at event viewer there is nothing to detect.
However. In all the process of finding out what was wrong I also stumbled across this page (UserBenchmark: PC Speed Test Tool - Compare Your PC). And having run a test, the test result told me that a process was running in the background, drawing about 50% from the PC. However nothing was visible on the event viewer.
This let me into a hunt for hidden virus (I always have malware bytes and defender active). But after a number of searches with different virus/spyware programs, the result was always negative.

This struggle to fight the high latency has now been running for almost three months. I think that my conclusion is likely to be that the hardware I have is not windows 10 friendly. But I am not sure that the conclusion is correct.

I thank you again for your reply.
