Hello all! I see the following error message somewhat frequently -- and I suspect I've narrowed it down to when Windows Explorer attempts to get the thumbnail information of possibly media files of a certain codec, or type. But I am not 100% sure. How can I narrow down the root cause?!

Thank you!

The dllhost.exe application error is often a result of critical system updates waiting to be installed. Check for new updates from Windows Update center.

System file corruption is one of the most common causes of the dllhost.exe issue. Open the Command Prompt as a administrator and execute Sfc /scannow command.

If you haven’t updated your display adapter driver update the driver without further delay.

Check your hard disk for error execute Chkdsk C: /f command to schedule error checking.

Another way to repair your dllhost.exe is by updating your codecs.
