Hello, i have a computer running Windows 8.1 and recently started having some issues with Steam telling me that an issue with my computer was blocking the VAC system, that's what made me try running the sfc /scannow command.

Every time i run it it says it couldn't repair all files, i then tried running DISM which says the source files could not be downloaded. I have run both sfc and DISM multiple times always with the same result, also tried running SFCFix which ends up running DISM and getting the same "source files could not be downloaded" type of error.

I downloaded a windows 8.1 iso but i'm not sure how to use it as source for DISM, it seems that's the only way to fix this. Other than the Steam issue my computer works fine but i would like to solve this anyway. I have been considering a refresh but would be very inconvenient.

I also ran malwarebytes and adwcleaner just in case.

Update for customer experience and diagnostic telemetry
This update contains the following files that are occasionally updated by the Diagnostic Tracking Service:telemetry.ASM-WindowsDefault.json
utc.app.json
The two files are marked as static files in the update. When an advanced user runs the System File Checker Tool (sfc.exe), the files are unintentionally flagged as corrupted. There is no impact or actual corruption on a device running this update, and a later service update will resolve this issue.

So there is nothing i can do except wait for a future update?
I'm suspicious of other corruption beside that though, or that also makes DISM not work?
And thank you for your reply!

Correct, these two files being incorrectly marked as static will cause SFC and DISM to report corruption when none is actually present.
It will not cause any problems with your computer :)
