Hello everyone,

I have a problem with my friend's computer. He asked me for upgrade and repair of his rig. Hardware upgrade was nothing special, but bringing to live his system is not so easy. It is Windows 10 with a lot of problems. Firstly I've installed Avira and removed few viruses, then I tried to run Windows update, but it's not working. I get "an error occured. Try to run setting app later" message. I've noticed, that wuauserv service is turned off and not able to turn it on. It starting for a moment and stops immediately. I've noticed, that BITS service is tured off too and I can't turn it on. When I'm running WU troubleshooter it stops on attempting to turn on BITS service and right after that message apear: troubleshooter is not able to identify issue. Tryied to run chkdsk /x /f /r and it working without problems, sfc is working too. But dism is always showing error 2. I tryied literally all dism related commands. Upgrade system with Windows installation media is not working too, it stops at some point and then reverting all actions. I would do everything to not install system from scratch due to installed and configured software. In the end I've run FRST. Attaching FRST.txt and Addition.txt.

Any help will be appreciated.

Great, please run the following DISM in an elevated command prompt and post the result. If it fails attach a new copy of the CBS log.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth

Dism works, Windows Update works, installing GPU drivers works. Without any problems I was able to update from 20H2 to 22H2. Once again thank you so much!

Hi,
