Hi there, I'm a newbie of this forum and I searched around a while for a solution of my problem before posting.

As you see from my title, I have DISM and SFC errors.

Before posting I tried those commands to fix my problem (see picture):
CMD_Screenshot.PNG

So next thing I did is downloading the SFCFix.exe tool and let it run. The output from it strangely came out clean:
SFCFix version 2.4.5.0 by niemiro.
Start time: 2015-08-17 22:50:47.474
Microsoft Windows 8.1 - amd64
Not using a script file.

SFCFix version 2.4.5.0 by niemiro has completed.

I have Windows 10 Home and maybe SFCFix.exe won't help in my case.

I also tried this command using the installation DVD as source:
DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /source:E:\Sources\Install.wim:1 /LimitAccess

However, I received the same error "The source files could not be found".

So far, I have not been able to fix the DISM error 0x800f081f and to repair the corrupt files detected by SFC /Scannow

Attached are the DISM and CBS log files.

Any help GREATLY appreciated!

That source command doesn't ***** work and I don't think it ever did work so I don't know why people ***** recommend using it.

Now, the way I fixed this problem was going to this page:

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

And downloading the media creation tool and choosing the "upgrade this pc now" option.

It doesn't change any files, apps, or settings but it does fix things up well. The only downside is it takes so ***** long.

But it doesn't seem like you will find an alternative. I called microsoft about this issue and they told me my windows installation was corrupt and I should do a clean installation. But an upgrade works just as well even if you already have windows 10 installed. By the way, microsoft doesn't give you the source command that you tried. Probably because it is no good and it doesn't work at all. I am disgusted how people just throw supposed "fixes" out there without knowing 100% if it even ***** works.

They moved my thread which had the same problem you're describing to the windows update section because this error code is also associated with some windows update errors. But they didn't move your thread--yet.

I think these moderators need to realize there may be more than one use for an error code.

I've moved this thread to Windows Update too. A specialist will be with you shortly.

I still don't get why you moved these threads to windows update section? What do these have to do with windows update?

As per your other thread :)

This thread is in the Windows Update section because DISM and SFC issues are normally closely related to Windows Update errors so we keep them all together. The error codes, techniques and custom tools we use all overlap. We have specially trained analysts here at Sysnative who assist with Windows Update, SFC and DISM issues and they spend their time checking threads in the WU forum. However, we currently have a long backlog of threads and a very small number of helpers so we have a standard wait time of 48-72 hours on these threads.

I'm back and just followed Azroach's recommendation. The "Windows 10 Upgrade" took a long time but fixed the file corruptions. Thanks a lot Azroach!

Well the fix is NOT permanent sir....:banghead: i just ran dism again after doing an upgrade and it still says it cant find sources... I'm doing sfc /scannow maybe it will fix it. I'll keep you guys posted. After that I'll run dism again and post my cbs log.

ok sfc /scannow found corrupt files and SUCCESSFULLY repaired them... so far so good. now i'll try dism...keep you posted..

success... dism completed the restore operation! ok so now we now it is possible to fix this error by running sfc /scannow...

Hi Azroach, I did a "thorough" test again and performed this commands

Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
sfc /scannow
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
sfc /scannow

All completed successfully, so it looks like your solution is permanent :)

Don't be so sure. I thought it was permanent too but further down the line you might get some more corruptions. Maybe it's not windows 10 but windows in general
