I want to disable my F1 key permanently for all programs. How do I do it without any third party app?

I tried this registry key

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\Typelib\{8cec5860-07a1-11d9-b15e-000d56bfe6ee}\1.0\0\win32]
@=""

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Classes\Typelib\{8cec5860-07a1-11d9-b15e-000d56bfe6ee}\1.0\0\win64]
@=""

But this method doesn't work.

Please help.

Hi,

Not sure you can disable the key, windows support remapping normal keys...

Check the following Where to find windows keyboard scancode registry information?

Doing the change manually on the registry is hard... the programs can help doing the change and don't need to be installed for this to work, after the change you can export the registry key.

This change can only be done by someone that have Administrator privileges.

I just used sharpkeys for making the registry changes. Came to know about it in the discussion link you posted. Thanks!!
