Hello there, I've got another problem....

For serveral days now, after I start my laptop, it would react awfully slow. I am able to open my internet explorer, this one works just fine. But I can't open my data explorer or other windows programms, ccleaner doesn't work as well... my task manager looks like this, and I have no idea what to do :((

Even if I wait a couple of minutes I still can't do anything without my laptop slowing down (except for using Opera....)

Thanks for helping me :)

Does the line with the 26.8% CPU usage translate to "Windows Problem Reports"?

If so, it is likely Windows sending information to Microsoft about system crashes/errors.

Did the slowness you describe start out of the blue one day recently? i.e., all was fine before shutdown the day before, then upon restart the next day the entire system was then sluggish?

What does "Data carrier" in the thread title refer to?

That's actually your disk usage, not RAM usage.
With the exception of operations like paging.

Something is hogging the disk.

Download Process Monitor from here:

https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb896645.aspx

Is there anything consistent reading and writing?
If that doesn't show anything we could try DiskMon but that's for physical writes rather than to cache, which probably isn't what is happening otherwise your disk space would fill up very quickly.

I'm sorry if I use the wrong words, I asked dict.cc and it said "data carrier" is the english word for "Datenträger" but like Jared said it's "disk"... It's quite the struggle for me to find the right termini for the german words, so I hope I don't write nonesense here ^^°... this reffered to the 3rd line with 99% workload, and I now know that it isn't the same as RAM *shame on me*

Yes, it does. It's very strange, my laptop needs longer than usual to boot, but works fine now even though my task manager looks quite similiar to how it was before :s and after some time the RAM usage goes up to 50% or so o:

Well, I had a problem with windows update center, but it was solved. A few days later my laptop began to slow down :(

I did, here is it:

May ask another question?
I ran SuperAntiSpyware and it found many unknown programs... I would like to know which of these I can delet without ruining my laptop :grin1:

Thank you very much :D

Okay, I've got a strong hunch that this is Avast, although I am seeing a lot of explorer.exe registry modifications.
I'm going to say, remove Avast and see what happens.

Alright, should I install a different virus scanner (something like avast, but not avast itself ^^°) after removing it o:?

Hi! :smile9:
Did you install cyberlink power2go recently?
Are you using a firewall? And ONLY ONE firewall?
Did you try to block cyberlink power2go with your firewall?

Hiya :smile9:
Yeah I did and I removed it, because I don't really need it :D now it's much faster now :)!
How can I check, how many firewalls I have o.o?
And wich antivirus programm should I install instead of Avast?

I didn't see xilolee's post about Windows Defender when I posted the Avast link.

I would go with Windows Defender as suggested by xilolee.

Regards. . .
