Hello,

I am trying to patch my 2016 server and it will not install cumulative patches. I can run the patch in standalone or through windows update it installs the patch, but after the server reboots it fails to apply the patch. I have ran the SFC, DISM, and SFCFix scans and they all have come back with no errors. Here is the link to my CBS logs: https://www.sendspace.com/file/v59dp7 Any help that can be provide is appreciated.

Thank You

Thank you for replying. I will not be able to try a clean boot till Sunday. I will post if it was successful. Thank you again

I tried the patch after a clean boot and it still did not install. It gets to 99% and then rolls back. I have the CBS folder, but I will not be able to post it till Tuesday.

Hi!

Your Server will automatically reboot after running this fix, so make sure you do this at a convenient time.

Step#1 - FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download attached file and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.
6. Try updates and if any fail, attach CBS.log.

Would you mind temporarily uninstalling it with its removal tool and rebooting?

Afterwards retry updates.
Sorry it took so long to get back to you I will not be able to try that till tomorrow night. I will post the results. Do you need the cbs.log if it fails?

Thank you for the logs.
