Question is there a way that i can create a system repair disc on my laptop that do not have a cd-rom drive windows 7 32 bit ? and if so how?

As seen here, there are several options.

When you say USB drive, do you mean an external hard drive, or a USB flash/thumb drive? I personally would not trust a flash drive - at least not as my only recovery solution. They are not very robust.

Thanks you for the reply i do not have a cd/dvd slot on my laptop so i cannot insert a cd or dvd ,I have a usb flash drive. all the options posted on the webpage keep asking for a cd /dvd which my laptop do not have. M y question is do you know how too create a usb flash drive which has the same functionality as a system repair disc

??? Did you look at the link I provided?

yes i did, i look at those options before i created this post ,one way another they are asking for a disc which this my laptop don't have a slot too insert any disc. The key words are create without a disc.

I am really confused Carl. The very first link in that Google search goes to a Digital Citizen article that says how to create a recovery disk to a memory stick WITHOUT a disk. There are dozens of other tutorials that do the same.

I don't have one that I use because I create images onto my backup server.

Digerati i am the one confused, you pointed me in the right direction i just needed confirmation that i was looking at the right one. I think i found one that don't require a disc. I saw the one about the memory stick without a disc but the word memory threw me off a bit because it did not say system repair.I wasn't trying to be sarcastic just more specific and i apologize whole heartily if my wording appeared that way.

I did not take it that way so no problem.

It does not help that memory stick, usb drive, thumb drive, flash drive, key drive, pen drive, jump drive (and probably several more) can all mean the exact same thing.

Thanks i needed those intelligence, i am a novice trying too learn from the pro's . I really appreciate all the help sysnative instructors provide. I will try to do this and increase my computer skills.

Good morning Digerati: yes i do plan on backing up my data and if I have questions I know that I can come too you for the correct answers, because you are a computer genius according to your name. your name Digerati by definition mean someone well versed in computer use and technology correct?

because you are a computer genius according to your name.
lol Yeah, that's what it means, but I do note that IT is many industries within industries.

Actually, I got that nickname after getting "The General" off my Colonel's rear (again!) when the general locked himself out of his computer and the network (again) after accidently deleting a document (again)! This was way back when in the late 80s and early 90s and I was the first network manager at a major Air Force base. The name just stuck after that.

Good morning Digerati on my laptop windows 7 64 bit i wanted to create that system repair disc but now i cannot boot into windows 7 the kids did something to mess up the boot up. The screen keeps saying no bootable device insert disc.I also gotten this error 0x0c00000e9 windows has encountered a problem communicating with a device connected to your computer. safe mode don,t work, f10 I cannot restore the computer ,and f2 will not let me boot another way. It sending off for a recovery disk the only way to boot up and check the hard drive?

Sorry for a late reply. Grandson came over and spent the night dominating time.

This being a notebook complicates things. You may need to remove the drive and attach it to another computer to copy off any data you don't want lost.

Can you boot into the BIOS and make sure the disk is seen and is set in the boot order. A weak or failed CMOS battery can cause this, as can a failed drive. You might check this out too: FIX: Error 0xc00000e9 While Installing Windows 8 or Windows 7

Thanks for the reply and yes i can boot to f2 too see the booting order but the other f numbers command is not getting me anywhere. I am trying too find a way to download a free windows 7 iso and download it to my desk top computer and burn the iso to my cd /dvd drive Is that possible? I have no installation at this time but will purchase one soon.

I have tried that already, when i put the product key no#s to verify, the response is pre-installed by the device manufacturer error. what else is possible before i send the manufacturer monies for a recovery repair disk.

It sounds like a UEFI BIOS. In that case, if the code you are putting in is wrong, you might be able to find the correct code in the BIOS. Otherwise, I am afraid I am at a loss and maybe someone with more Windows expertise than me will have something to offer. Sorry.

Good morning Digerati getting back to you from your last response how can I discover what boot I have and how to find the correct code in the BIOS.

Your notebook manual should provide the specs, telling you if UEFI or normal BIOS. Your only option here may be to buy for a recovery disk from the notebook maker.
