[SOLVED] Couple of problems, Can't Update windows and AMD Drivers not Detected

So this all started when I tried to play PC games again after a couple months of not playing anything. I noticed the game was very laggy and found out that my AMD drivers weren't even installed. I tried reinstalling and it still wouldn't work. I then tried to do a system restore and it didn't work as well. Then I found that I have to update windows to the newest version first before I should update my drivers. So I went ahead and tried to do that. The update fails saying "Some update files are missing or have problems. We'll try to download the update again later. Error code: (0x80073712)"

TLDR: 2 problems
AMD drivers are not working/installing correctly
Can't update windows.

I have an Asus R510D laptop
AMD A10-5750M APU 2.5 GHz 8GB memory
GPU: Radeon HD 8650G+ 8670M 2 GB.
Windows 10

I have tried running sfc/scannow in cmd as admin

I've also tried installing a the standalone patch, but it says that the patch is not applicable even though my laptop is trying to install that patch...

This is the patch that failed:

Please try to run SFC again, then zip and attach C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log when it fails.
If the file is larger than 8MB, please use a file sharing service such as OneDrive, DropBox, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

Please manually upload the components hive by following these instructions:

Upload Components Hive
  1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config
  2. Right-click on the current COMPONENTS file and select copy
    Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again.
  3. Right-click on your Desktop and select paste
  4. Right-click on the COMPONENTS file on your Desktop and select Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder
  5. Upload the zip from your Desktop to a file sharing service such as DropBox, OneDrive, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.
 
Got it.

Looks like the Components hive has been trashed. Do you have a backup from before the problems started? If so, check if the components hive in the backup is larger than 256KB.
Also check if there is a COMPONENTS file in C:\Windows\System32\Config\RegBak\
 
Sorry I'm not quite computer savvy, but how do I know if I have a backup for components hive? I assume if Im asking this question then I probably don't have it? :( Anyways, I dont see any COMPONENTS file in the \RegBak\ folder.
 
Yes, in that case unfortunately there is not a backup available.

You may want to try a repair installation (or in-place upgrade) of Windows 10.

You can find the latest version here: Windows 10
On that page, click the 'update now' button.

Be sure to choose the option to keep your files, apps, and settings.

If you encounter an error let me know.
 
Alright thanks, I'll try the installation whenever I'm free and will update you when it's done.
 
Ok so when I run the updater, it tells me ,"Thank you for updating to the latest version of Windows 10" and that's it, nothing updated.
 
Go ahead and use the media creation tool on that page to create Windows installation media. You will need an empty 8GB or larger flash drive.
Once the media has been created, run setup.
Be sure to choose the option to keep your files, apps, and settings.
 
Thanks you very much for the help, windows appear to be updating normally now. You don't happen to know how to fix amd graphics drivers too do you?

EDIT: actually nvm, i think I've figured it out, thanks so much again.
