Corruption in MSDTC.LOG is keeping update KB3000850 from installing (New)

Hello and welcome to the forum.

I would be happy to provide this zip file do you, but can you please do me a favor first? Can you please go into the following folder :
C:\WINDOWS\winsxs\amd64_microsoft-windows-com-dtc-runtime_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.16384_none_0a1162f033fa01f6\

Copy the MSDTC.LOG file to your desktop, -> add it into a zip file called MSDTC_QMan71.zip -> attach to your next post

Basically we are getting flooded with these requests for these files. I am trying to work out some details about the file, uploading it would help a great deal.

Once the file is upload please complete the following:

Worked perfectly thank you!!

The output is below and I've attached the log.

FYI -
Don't know if this caused the corruption in the first place but I originally installed that update a few months ago and it installed fine but it had a major conflict with Avast antivirus (locked folders/couldn't compile anything).
I uninstalled the update until Avast has fixed up their side.

I tried to reinstall it again along with newer windows updates and then noticed it kept re-appearing in windows updates so I investigated and found that it was failing to install because of the corrupted log.

Anyway, all good now.

Thanks heaps for your help.

Cheers,
Quentin

Log looks good :)

Don't know if this caused the corruption in the first place but I originally installed that update a few months ago and it installed fine but it had a major conflict with Avast antivirus (locked folders/couldn't compile anything).

I dont think so in this case, this corruption is extremely common, we are still trying to work out how the issue is occurring.
