Hello everyone.I am new here and I am not very tech savvy and dont really understand how a pc works very well so I need a little help please.

I was doing some basic clean up on my pc and decided to run SFC /scannow and it founf 24 corrupt files and could not repair them.I searched the issue and ended up downloading and running the SFCfix.exe from this site.I ran it and it fixed only 8 files,I have read thru all the threads here and elsewhere I could find but none of the advice has worked so far.I even used an install disc when SFCfix asked for one to use as a source and it apparently did not even see the disc after I inserted it and clicked continue.I have tried it about 30 times now in the last 14 hours and I am at my witts end,the SFCfix never connects to it's server to update and fails to connect to retrieve source files as it says it will,so as a last resort I joined the forums so I can post the result of the SFCfix scan logs and see if anyone can help me.I dont even know if the files it says are corrupt matter or not,by the names they seem very unimportant but SFCfix.exe says there are no unimportant files corrupt so here is the scan log results.I hope someone can tell me to ignore these files as not needed or or how I can get it fixed. Thanks to any and all who may be able to offer any advice at all.

Hello PeterJ, thank you for replying to my post and thank you for your time and work on this,I appreciate it very much! It worked perfectly, as the log shows everything was repaired.I ran sfc /scannow again to check the results and it shows (new issues) but does not have these ones anymore.I think I know what is causing the issue for me,I am using a certain software for cleaning my pc and last night it deleted some what it called junk files that it said where redundant input methods and showed files of a foreign language so I let it delete them as I figured they where just extra language packs that I did not need. Those exact files it showed as junk and deleted are the ones that sfc /scannow shows as corrupt now.I will have to find a new software for pc cleaning to avoid this happening again.I thought I could trust the one I have been using but it is obviously causing some issues for my system. However as I said your script worked perfectly and repaired everything it was supposed to and I can't thank you enough.Your AWESOME!!! :)

Great.

I think I know what is causing the issue for me,I am using a certain software for cleaning my pc
Please give the name of that program. In general, be careful of so-called pc-cleaners, pc-boosters, pc-optimizers etc. They promise more than they deliver or you have to pay first for phony repairs.

Hello again PeterJ,the software I am referring to is iobit ASC,I have used it for awhile now and thought it was doing a good job but my pc is so screwed up now I am going to have to do an image restore I think, because of all the corruption. It wont update anymore for some reason but none of the given fixes MS has posted on there sight work, and every time I run sfc /scannow there is more and more corruption. Either all the files iobit keeps deleting as junk are desperately needed and not junk or I picked up a virus somewhere.I have been battling this pc for 2 weeks now and the only fix that has worked on anything is the one you provided me,I dont really think I have a virus,I have scanned it with everything known to man and nothing finds a virus or malware, just corrupt and missing files.I have an image that is clean from clear back in Sept.2018 so if all else fails I will just have to go back to that and start over with a better software I guess.Do you by chance have one to recommend that works without messing things up? It is all very odd because sfc /scannow finds mass corruption but SFCfix says there is none but yet the thing wont update so IDK what to do really.I am just not that good with the pc.Still I thank you for your work, what you provided me did fix the corruption I had posted about,my system just keeps getting worse day by day and new stuff just keeps coming up!

You really don't need iobit ASC. Do not let it remove anything, do not uninstall it and don't use other cleaning tools.
Lets have a look at your machine first:

1. Download the Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop:
64-bit: Downloading Farbar Recovery Scan Tool

2. Right-click to run the tool as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Note: Ensure that the Addition.txt check box is checked at the bottom of the form within the Optional Scan area.
4. Press the Scan button.
5. Please wait for the tool to finish. It will produce two logfiles called FRST.txt and Addition.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should be the desktop)
6. Post the logfiles FRST.txt and Addition.txt as attachment in your next reply.

It seems like you are using software by iobit not legitimate. Do you agree to remove this cracked software from this machine ?
Only than we can proceed with the cleaning and hopefully fix the issues.

Yes I am willing to remove it or whatever needs done.I did not install the system,I paid someone to do it and for the iobit products install as I was told it was a saftey bundle with AV and everything needed to protect my pc,so if something is not what it is supposed to be then I have no issues with removing it.I am not sure what you mean by cracked software but I was going to uninstall iobit anyway because I thought it was the source of the issues.

Okay. Start with uninstalling following software.
If for some reason the computer needs a reboot, please do so. After the reboot proceed with the next item.

  • Advanced SystemCare 11
  • AVG PC Tuneup
  • Driver Booster 5
  • IObit Malware Fighter 6

Please tell me if this went well or if there were any problems.

Okay,I have uninstalled those 4 products and three of them went well, the IMF did not want to cooperate or be uninstalled so it took a couple tries. It was weird because the first time I tried to uninstall it,it seemed to be going normally then all of a sudden the screen began to flash on/off then went blue, then black and then the pc shut down so I thought it had killed my pc all together.I rebooted it and all seemed as normal as it has been anyway and so I tried again and it seemed to go as expected that time.I rebooted as it asked and now just logged back in and as far as I can tell everything seems to be o.k.,or as it was anyway.

Well done.

Warning: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Do not run this script on another machine.

1. Download the attachment fixlist.txt and save it to your desktop.
2. Right-click on FRST64.exe and select "Run as administrator".
3. Press the Fix button.
4. The tool will now process fixlist.txt.
5. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
6. When finished, a log called Fixlog.txt will appear in the same directory the tool is run from.
7. Post the logfile Fixlog.txt as attachment in your next reply.
