Hello and welcome

Due to the precise nature of your corruption, you will receive help from a user named LiquidTension. He's one of our senior trainees here who's in his final phrase of his studies and needs to gain some real world experience in specific areas of Windows Update. This means that he'll be assisting you, but that I will first need to double check and approve his fixes before he posts them to you. If anything this is a good thing for you because it means that you've got at least two of us watching over your thread, but it will unfortunately add a slight delay between each reply. I hope that you understand and can accept the need for us to train up new members in this way in order to carry on doing what we do here, however, if for any reason you object to this setup, I will happily take on your thread myself.

Thank you very much for your understanding. We'll be with you very shortly.

That's fine by me. Thanks for the fast reply. Just trying to get this thing updated has been a nightmare. I'm not necessarily trying to roll out Windows 10 on these two computers, but I am trying to fix all the corruptions before doing so. This one will not even let me update. I have two computers with corruptions.

Hello timeshredder, and welcome to Sysnative!

Please follow the instructions below. If you come across any issues, or have any questions, please stop and ask before proceeding.

STEP 1
SFCFix Script

Warning:
This fix is intended for use on this particular machine. Do not use this fix on any other machine; doing so may cause damage to your Operating System. If you are not the original poster and require assistance, please start your own topic.

  1. Download SFCFix and save this file to your Desktop. If SFCFix is already present on your Desktop, you do not need to download the file.
  2. Please download the attached file, SFCFix.zip and save this file to your Desktop.
Note: Ensure this file is named SFCFix.zip. Do not rename the file.
  3. Close all open windows.
  4. SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip should both be present on your Desktop.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file (SFCFix.txt) will be created on your Desktop.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) the contents of this file and paste (Ctrl+V) in your next post.

STEP 2
SFC /SCANNOW

  1. Click the Windows Start button, and type CMD in the search field. Right-click CMD.exe and click Run as administator.
  2. At the command prompt type the command below and press the Enter key.

    sfc /scannow

  3. Upon completion, copy (Ctrl+C) and paste (Right-click the Window + Paste) the command below and press the Enter key.

    copy %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\CBS.txt"

  4. Upon completion, a file (CBS.txt) will be created on your Desktop. Attach this file in your next post.

Re: Logfile submission from timeshredder

THAT CBS LOG IS FOR A DIFFERENT COMPUTER; PLEASE IGNORE! sorry the bot must have got confused.

Please include SFCFix.txt (generated after executing the SFCFix script), and the correct CBS.txt (generated after running SFC) in your next post so I can confirm if there are any outstanding issues.

Hi timeshredder,

Please upload this folder: %windir%\logs\cbs in the same manner you did earlier. Ensure you upload this folder from the computer we are currently working on.

Thank you.

Thank you for uploading the folder. Your most recent run of SFC shows no problems.

Do you have any outstanding issues with this computer?

Yes actually. This machine still will not update. When I tried to update it just reboots and says updates failed. I'm going to post the error soon. I'm just leaving a note here saying this thread isn't complete... BRB
