Hello,

Lets get that file repaired now.

SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

Unfortunately I still cannot update windows.. it's still giving me an error..

Btw last time I ran sfc /scannow, the results said "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix them", might there be other errors in the CBS log file attached?

Thanks,

Found these lines in the CBS.txt file I attached earlier..

Look at the dates. The files you have posted are from an old SFC scan, the one I posted is from a newer scan.

The issue may be with one of the Windows services.

Please try Windows Update again (It will likely fail again) but I want to get the most recent error code:

Windows Update log

  1. Click on the Start button -> Inside the search box type in CMD -> Select CMD

  1. Inside the Command Prompt windows copy and paste the following commands
    cmd /c copy %windir%\WindowsUpdate.log "%userprofile%\Desktop\WindowsUpdate.txt"
  2. Please go to your desktop and upload WindowsUpdate.txt to OneDrive or Dropbox and provide the link back here.
