Hey folks,
Attempting to recover my OS drive from an HDD with damaged sectors and while I can boot, there's a lot I can't do - some settings windows crash and a number of other programs with dependencies (on things like Visual C++ runtimes and .NET) that used to work just don't anymore. I've attempted to uninstall and reinstall affected files with the latter issues, and with settings I've attempted to run repairs from the app base, but it's not happening in either case.
Other things I've attempted to do to remedy:
SFC /scannow - 4% Verification and then "Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation."
DISM RestoreHealth - it gets to 5.7% and I get a message stating "The WOF driver encountered a corruption in the compressed file's Resource Table."
--I've also attempted to restore from a 1903 ISO on USB and it stops at the same place and gives me the same error.
Windows Troubleshooting - Windows Update gives me an immediate 0x8007025D error, Windows Store Apps gives me 0x800706BA.
SFCfix - currently, the DISM step crashes but it completes. For a while it was crashing entirely without any reason.
Tweaking.com Windows Repair - this may have cleared up my initial SFCfix crash issue but not much else.
Windows System Repair from Recovery Menu - tells me I can't repair.
Install-in-place from 1903 and 1909 ISOs - in either situation when attempting to keep files, the first reboot process has made it as far as 11%, then collapses - when my previous OS installation is recovered I always get the same error message tied to 0x8007001f-0x20006. I've attempted to follow some advice from a ZineTek article, but nothing has come of it besides a few extra percentage points (since when this first came up it stopped at 0%)
In any case, latest SFC/DISM/SFCfix logs are attached.
