Hi. Thanks for stopping by. For the last few days, I've had an error trying to install LogMeIn Hamachi. It started when I had to reinstalled due to a common hamachi problem where the service stops working. When I reinstalled it, the driver needed for the virtual network adapter wasn't installed, tried to install it manually only to encounter a "Configuration registry database corrupt". I went to lots of sites, guides and forums, only to find no solution for me other than a W10 fresh install. Actually I can't even do that, nor use the Restore System function, everything fails. While doing everything posted before, I found that my Windows Update was throwing me Error 0x800703f1 on multiple updates for drivers and even in the attempt of installing the KB4340917 update. I made a lot of stuff from other sites and threads and I'm starting to lose hope on a fix, so I came to make my own thread and ask for a solution before falling into despair. I already did the SFC and DISM scans without success, they can't find anything. SFCFix was the same. I've provided the logs requested from instructions. Thanks in advance.

Hello and welcome!

Upload Drivers Hive

  1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config
  2. Right-click on the current DRIVERS file and select copy
Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again.
  3. Right-click on your Desktop and select paste
  4. Right-click on the DRIVERS file on your Desktop and select Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder
  5. Upload the zip from your Desktop to a file sharing service such as DropBox, OneDrive, SendSpace, etc. and include the link with your reply.

Step 1 - Replace Drivers Hive Manually

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.

  1. Download DRIVERS.ZIP and save to your desktop.
  2. Right-click on it and select Extract all.... Make sure the "Show extracted files when complete" is checked and click Extract.
  3. Now we have the DRIVERS file that we will be using to replace your current one.
  4. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\config
  5. Right-click on the current DRIVERS file and select rename. Rename it to DRIVERS.bad.
Note: If you get an error that the file is in use, reboot your computer and then try again.
  6. Take the file from the Drivers folder on your desktop and paste it into C:\Windows\System32\config

Step 2 - DISM /Get-Drivers

  1. Right-click on the Start button and select Command Prompt (Admin)
  2. When command prompt opens, Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Right-click > Paste) the following command into it, then press Enter

    Dism /Online /Get-Drivers

  3. When DISM finishes, zip up and attach your DISM log to your next post:

    C:\Windows\Logs\DISM\DISM.log

If DISM does not fail, please go ahead and try installing the drivers again.

Sorry for the Spanish bits. The command prompt (Windows Powershell) says the operation concluded successfully. Hamachi installation has been solved (thank you), gonna test with the Windows Update drivers.
