Hello,

is there a way to completely reset the registry permissions to Win10 default or to transfer the permissions from a fresh installation?

The command

Code:
secedit /configure /cfg %windir%\inf\defltbase.inf /db defltbase.sdb /verbose

fixes some problem but not all.

Hi Patrick,

Use the Tweaking.com Windows Repair (All In One) tool
Download Windows Repair (All In One)

Make sure you check the log of the tool to confirm that the task is done because in some Windows 10 versions the tool will skip that fix because it doesn't have the information to set the default permissions for that specific version.

The All In One tool comes pretty close but pretty sure the only way to completely reset all the entries, the only way is to restore from an image what was made right after the initial installation, or do a fresh install.

Not that I know of but my knowledge here is very limited. Frankly, I would be hesitant to try exporting and importing the entire set of permissions for everything. I would think the two computers would need to be 100% identical to ensure nothing breaks. And two identical Windows machines that have been in use for awhile would be a rarity.

Sorry. This is way out of my wheelhouse.

I know this is an old thread but sometimes those are the best kind :-)

@SleepyDude - Thanks a million! I am a 20 year IT veteran and I have never used the Tweaking.com Windows Repair (All In One) tool. What a lifesaver on this problem I was having...

Described here for others...
Windows 10
Desktop and toolbar blinking
explorer.exe high cpu usage
new profile didn't have the same issue...

Worked on it for a looooooooonnnnnng time... then found this thread. all better.
