Hello,

so I bought the Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro 250 ohm and the focusrite scarlett 2i2 3rd gen this week.
Now, I plugged everything in and dowloaded the drivers for the scarlett.
I'm hearing clicks and pops every now and then, escpecially when someone talks to me on TeamSpeak.
I tried allready so many things, like reinstall drivers, power settings, set everything to the same samplerate, reduce the buffer size. Nothing helped so far.
I really appreciate every form of help, this gear costed me over 200 €.
I allready tested my old headphones and it seems to be, that the problem stays the same. But withe the new ones I hear the higher frequencys better and theirfore the pops and clicks are more present.

Thank you in advance.

This is probably not going to be helpful as I tried everything I knew, I even contacted Focusrite to no avail. They were willing to help but we could never find a solution.

My issues with the Scarlett products: Latency, I'd pluck a guitar string and .5sec later I'd hear a tone. I had popping as well.

My fix? I switched to the Steinberg UR22 mk II. I also have the Behringer U-Phoria UMC404HD both of which work great on my Windows PC.

I went to the Focusrite internet community and got disenchanted with the "get a MAC" (Apple)", "Windows Sux" answers.

Let's try this:
  • Click (windows) Start, settings, system, about, advanced system settings, environment variables.
    Under system variables, double-click the Path variable and then click the edit text... button.
    Select all the existing texts and delete them.
    Click spoiler and copy/paste, in that same edit-box, the text that appears; then click Ok (three times):
    %SystemRoot%;%SystemRoot%\system32;%SystemRoot%\System32\OpenSSH\;%SystemRoot%\System32\Wbem;%SystemRoot%\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intel\Shared Libraries\redist\ia32\compiler;C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Intel\Shared Libraries\redist\intel64\compiler;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\iCLS Client\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\DAL;C:\Program Files (x86)\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\IPT;C:\Program Files (x86)\NVIDIA Corporation\PhysX\Common;C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\10\Windows Performance Toolkit\;C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Live\Shared;C:\Program Files\Intel\iCLS Client\;C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\DAL;C:\Program Files\Intel\Intel(R) Management Engine Components\IPT;C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\NVIDIA NvDLISR;C:\ProgramData\Oracle\Java\javapath;D:\Desktop\scrcpy;
  • Click start, type cmd, click run as administrator.
    Copy/paste this command in it and click enter:
    powercfg /h off
    Then close all windows, save your work and reboot.

Agree with @xilolee here. Try turning hibernation off and see if that cures the problem. Your Speccy report shows it is enabled.

Power Profile
Active power scheme: Audio
Hibernation: Enabled
Turn Off Monitor after: (On AC Power): Never
Turn Off Hard Disk after: (On AC Power): 20 min
Suspend after: (On AC Power): Never
Screen saver: Disabled

So I noticed something interesting. As far as I only use services like Spotify or YouTube, everything is fine. As far as I can tell, the pops and clicks only occur when I'm receiving messeneges on Steam (the sound when I get a message is super distorted) and most of the time when someone is talking to me on TeamSpeak. Does anyone have a clue what this could be?

@Nordymorph
I haven't used Teamspeak in years but I do remember you could change the modulation ie; 24bit 48000Hz ( @Digerati is modulation the correct word?) in the TS settings. I also remember if one set it too high, like 32bit 92000Hz it would be garbled.

Packet loss per the TS server you're connected to? High packed loss
I actually can change the modulation, but this doesn't really change anything. Packetloss is not an issue, checked this already too.
