I first had a pb with preinstalled w8 following the non-performance of some applications such ( the latest Adobe Reader version QuickEngine , Canal + on demand , Microsoft Fix it 50123 , Bing office , Ma Config.com 64 bits , Adbloc more for IE , Hubic .. ) with this systematic error "C: \ Windows \ Installer \ inprogressinstallinfo.ipi system error : -2147286788 code : 2203 " :banghead:
why I do not know ?
I did a lot of things to try this monster subjugation error -> without results :
especially with "MBAM" , "CCleaner" , "AdwCleaner" I corrected the BDR -with "Tweaking.com Windows" Repair step4 ( ooh ooh
) I tried with rights "super administrator " in "prompt cde " for the update , I hacked my profile by putting " everyone " with all permissions (read, write , system ... ), I had no more restore points to return to .... Stable config ...:s15:
I resigned myself to update my notebook with " f9 " the files and folders the proposed option 1 option : everything is back normal again I have done all updates via windows update several times and then I went to w8.1 with updates .. = > No pbs .. he seems ?
Now I ask myself if the proposed updates to update match they really my system? on the history .. I only have 3 updates noted and successful to date ( 2--> 2013/11/18 : ! KB976002 kb2898108 and 1 office and bing ( optional ) to see ..?

some services may be modified and / or their positions are greyed out ( can not change the startup type ) = > not all look but many are dependent on each other .. examples :
- RpcSc C: \ WINDOWS \ system32 \ svchost.exe -k rpcss -> RPC remote procedure call ( auto-dimming , running -> change not possible)
- msiserver C: \ WINDOWS \ system32 \ msiexec.exe / V -> Windows Installer ( shaded manual remains on running -> change not possible
- DcomLaunch C: \ WINDOWS \ system32 \ svchost.exe -k DcomLaunch -> DCOM Server Process Launcher (grayed automatic running -> change not possible)
- RpcEptMapper C: \ WINDOWS \ system32 \ svchost.exe -k RPCSS -> Mapper RPC endpoint (grayed automatic running -> change not possible)
