CBS & SFC total detected corruption count: 4 SURT total detected corruption count: 8

I suspect my Windows 7 PC has a registry corruption. It's affecting the performance while accessing My Computer and when saving files from the internet.

These are things I've done:

1. Ran sfc /scannow. It detected corrupt files, but couldn't fixed them all. I've attached the CBS.log
2. Ran Windows Update Readiness Tool. It found 10 Errors. I downloaded the Windows Update files mentioned in CHECKSUR.log, put them in C:\Windows\Temp\CheckSUR\Packages folder, ran WURT again, only 2 of those errors got fixed, 8 remain. I've attached the latest CHECKSUR.log
3. Ran SFCFix.exe by Niemero & I've attached the generated SFCFix.txt
4. Ran CHKDSK /f C: . It found no problems.

Please help in fixing the problem.

P.S. This is the second time I'm asking for help at sysnative forum. BrianDrab helped me fix the problem then. So, I already have a bit of experience in fixing this kind of a problem. I have the tools like FRST, Registry Backup & Restore, which were used in fixing the problem last time around. :smile9:

Hello and welcome to the forum.

This either looks like a corrupt HDD or dieing memory, the dead give away is the 'bitflip' spotted here:
Code:
(f)	CBS MUM Corrupt	0x00000000	servicing\Packages\[COLOR="#FF0000"]@[/COLOR]ackage_4_for_KB2957689~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~11.2.1.0.mum Expected file name Package_4_for_KB2957689~31bf3856ad364e35~x86~~11.2.1.0.mum does not match the actual file name

Before we continue have you back up all your important files? The hardware diagnostic tools usually dont cause any harm, but it is crucial to be on the same side. Once you have back up your important files please complete the below tests:

Please follow the instructions for MemTest86+, for atleast 10 passes. Let me know the results.

Once completed please continue:
Download ListChkdskResult.exe (by SleepyDude) from Here
Double click on it to run it. It will take a few seconds to scan, then it will open a Notepad window with the log. Copy and paste the contents of this into your next post.

Please also follow the steps here for SeaTools HDD Diagnostics. Run a Long test and a Short test, then report back the results to this thread.
