Hello,
I've been browsing around the internet for the good part of two days trying to find a solution to my problem. So far, this is what I've come up with:
The Setup:
I have a laptop with Windows 8.1, I noticed my antivirus wasn't showing in the tray anymore, so I decided to uninstall and install a new one. This new one apparently did the damage. Ran a scan and asked to restart. When I did, the laptop gives me a blue screen saying it can't start windows normally.
What I've tried:
Refresh is impossible since the "drive is blocked".
Reinstall everything I haven't tried cause well, I don't want to lose my files.
I can't start in any Safe Mode, it just loops into the same blue screen.
Restore is impossible since I didn't create a restore point.
I can access command prompt sfc \scannow and doesn't appear to help, I can't fix the corrupt files.
What I think I can do:
One option in the blue screen tells me I need to give the laptop a re-image DVD, which I don't have, but when doing this I can browse my computer's files, so I managed to smuggle the CBS.log into a flash drive. This would mean that I can also install any files to the computer, but I can't run any programs.
What I want to do is manually replace the corrupt files. As I said, I saved the CBS file but I don't know how to read it and don't exactly know which are the corrupt files or where they are.
So:
That's why I came here, I really, really hope you can help me with this issue.
I attach the CBS log and an extra file hoping it helps.
Thanks so very much in advance!View attachment Cbslog.rar
