Hello.

I have a laptop 7-8 years old, where I installed Windows 11 from scratch last year. The computer has issues with updates, and it stayed with 21H2 version for a long time now. I downloaded the ISO file to proceed to a direct upgrade of the system, but I'm getting the message that my processor isn't supported for this version of Windows.

Any advice?

It is an ASUS ZenBook UX305. The processor was not supported for Windows 11, so I did a clean install which was successful.

Could you assist me for a reg fix so I can upgrade it? Is that something I should do every time I would like to apply updates?

I would suggest to use the MediaCreationTool.bat (MCT Wrapper) tool from Gitgub, when you create an ISO for Windows 11 with the MCT defaults, the upgrade to 23H2 should go smoothly without any restrictions.

Is that something I should do every time I would like to apply updates?

Yes on systems which are not supported, you'll need that toolkit to install the latest Feature Updates (builds). But the monthly Cumulative Updates will install without any issues.

I downloaded. Now I just run the bat file?

Yes, run the *.bat file as admin from the directory below, and select the MCT version 11_23H2 in the PowerShell window. Select the MCT defaults option and the next options to build the ISO.

Code:
 Directory of C:\Users\<user>\Desktop\MediaCreationTool.bat-main

21-03-2024 18:38 <DIR> .
21-03-2024 18:38 <DIR> ..

The tool created the ISO file, but unfortunately, when I used it I got the same warning that the processor isn't supported for this version of Windows. :(

Have you run the MediaCreationTool.bat file from the DIR with the "bypass11" files / dir?

I'll try again. I moved the bat file on to the Desktop before.

It doesn't work unfortunately.
