Hi all, I am having a similar issue to many people here with my Windows upgrade. The upgrade fails with a repeating error in setuperr.log:

Checking the CBS.log reveals several files that seem to relate to high definition audio being missing. It looks like several users here have been helped with the SFCFix method, but it just crashes when I run it (i suspect due to not having the proper sfcfix.zip file) and I was hoping someone could do the same for me?

Here are my CBS logs:

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide...

As an update, SFCFix won't run with a 0xc0150004 error which kind of points back to VC++. I have reinstalled the VC++ Redist but that didn't fix it. Unfortunately I haven't seen the proper way to fix this via this forum (it appears in 3 posts but none have a methodology to fix it that I'm aware of)

Hello and welcome! Sorry about the delay. Do you still require assistance? If so, please do the following:

Retrieve Components Hive
1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
2. Please copy this file to your desktop.
Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
3. Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To...Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
4. The file will likely be too large to upload here so please upload toa file sharing service and just provide the link here.
