Hi guys! I tried to update to update to the newest build several times. The last time it failed with an error code 0xc1900101 (shown in the Update center). First I tried to update on a laptop which is now in repairs with an utility from Microsoft site as the update didn't appear in the Update center. Then I moved the SSD from that laptop to another one (before giving it to a repair center) as that PC needed to be repaired at that time, just to have my OS during repairs of that laptop. Then, after some time, I tried to perform it exactly like the last time, hoping that it would be done well on the other device, but still got the same error. Since a week had passed, it showed up in the Update center. I hopefully tried to do it from there, thinking that it might really install normally as it's officially available. Still no luck. I did a SFC scan, reported no errors. I did Dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth, reported no problems as well. Here are all the necessary logs from the folder C:\$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources in a single archive - Update Logs.zip on Google Drive. Can anybody here solve my problem, please? All the previous upgrades were done well, I've been having this version 1909 since the end of the last year. In general, I've been having this copy of OS since 2017. I did SetupDiag.exe, and with the produced log (also presented in that archive) I can see that the problem is in plugin SxsMigPlugin.dll and there is its own error code, but I don't know what to do with this. Googling didn't bring me to any appropriate results.

Hi!

Step#1 - FRST Scan

1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Right-click FRST64.exe and click Run as Administrator to run it as administrator. When the tool opens, click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Please ensure you place a check mark in the Addition.txt check box at the bottom of the form before running (if not already checked).
4. Press Scan button.
5. It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should now be the desktop)
6. Please attach the log back here.
7. Another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST64.exe) will be generated Please also attach that along with the FRST.txt in your reply.

Hello! I've done what you've said. Here are the logs - FRST Logs on Google Drive

I forgot to mention an important moment. When the update fails, it looks like it goes to approximately 70%, then the laptop reboots, but as booting logo shows up it immediately reboots again, then shows "Trying to repair the installed system", after it, reboots again, and then "Undoing changes made to your computer". After it the old system loads.

After uninstalling, I'm to try to update again? Can I enable Windows Defender while the antivirus is uninstalled?

Step#1 - FRST Fix

1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download the attached fixlist.txt and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

Please do the following:

GSmartControl
Follow the instructions below to check your SMART status with GSmartControl:

  • Download the portable version of GSmartControl and save it on your Desktop;
  • Extract the zip file to your Desktop. Open the folder gsmartcontrol-1.1.3-win64 which should be located on your Desktop and double-click gsmartcontrol.exe to launch the program.
  • Identify your drive in the list (if recognized by the tool), and hover your mouse over it.
  • You should see something called: SMART status. It will either read: Enabled, in which case you should do the following:
  • Double-click on it to bring up its window (usually you'll find your drive by its size or its brand name);
  • Go to the Self-Tests tab, then select Extended Self-test in the Test type drop-down list and click on Execute (this test can take a few hours to complete);
  • Once the test is over, the results will be displayed at the bottom of the window. Please copy and paste these results in your next reply or take a screenshot;
  • Also, go in the Attributes tab and if you have any entries highlighted in red or pink, take a screenshot of the GSmartControl window and attach it in your next reply;
  • Please note: If the SMART Status reads: Unsupported, stop and let me know.

The test is done with no errors. In SMART everything was perfect, there weren't red or pink lines.

This is the fixlog - fixlog. There is a sentence in Russian - "Get-ChildItem : Не удается найти путь "C:\WINDOWS\system32\Config\TxR", так как он не существует" saying that the path didn't exist. I also see in this log that there were some directories that didn't exist.
