Hi,
I can't seem to get KB4534310, Windows Monthly Quality Rollup Updates, to install. Other updates have installed without troubles. In fact, I downloaded and installed KB4534314, which I believe is the security-only portion of KB4534310, with no troubles. Becaues KB4534310 would not install, I ran the Windows 7 system update readiness tool (SURT). Initially, the SURT found 106 errors and corrected 98 of them. The remaining 8 errors were all attributable to Avast. I'm running version 19.8.2393 (build 19.8.4257.552) of Avast. To try and eliminate the last 8 SURT errors, I uninstalled Avast in Safe Mode using Avast's uninstall tool avastclear.exe. I then rebooted and tried to install KB4534310 again using the stand-alone windows updater. Installation failed again so I reran the SURT. The 8 unfixable errors from Avast were still present. Can you please help me get this fixed and get KB4534310 installed? Thanks!

SOLVED:

Hi all,
Well, I seem to have fixed my problem. I think it was from a Dwrite.dll file not found error, 0x8007002, in my CBS log even though Dwrite.dll was present in my System32 folder and well as my Syswow64 folder. My problem seemed to be very similar to the following thread so I did what he did and installed KB4012212:

[SOLVED] Machine 8: KB4499164 failed with code 80070002 on WS2008R2 Standard SP1 x64 (DWrite.dll ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND).

I first deleted Avast using the avastclear tool in Safe Mode. After rebooting to normal Windows, I manually removed all entries in winsxs that referenced
Avast and then re-ran the SURT. Four Avast folders were recreated but all errors were fixed! New runs of SURT and SFCFix showed zero errors.
I then downloaded and manually installed KB4012212, the March 2017 Security-Only Quality Update, which ran without a hitch. I then ran the automatic
Windows Update and KB4534310, installed successfully!
