Can't install Wacom driver...

I'm having a lot of trouble installing the wacom driver for my intuous pro (driver can be found here: Drivers | Wacom - Latest driver 6.3.29-6)

Every time I go to install the driver, the installer fails to extract and install the files. I am met with error "Checksum error in System32\Wacom_Tablet.exe" and a pop up that reads "some Installation files are corrupt. Please Download a fresh copy and retry the installation" (see image below)

I have tried 'sfc /scannow' which told me there were corruptions that couldn't be fixed, I then used the sfcfixer.exe and it reported that all the corruptions were fixed, however, I still can't install the wacom driver.

It's probably important to note that after the Win10 April update, I had trouble signing into my account and had to refresh windows in order to access my desktop. This might have been the cause of the problems, I'm not sure, maybe a driver conflict?

I've tried manually removing all traces of Wacom related files from my pc but to no avail, I am really at the end of my rope here.

Help? :noidea:

Hi Xcapism :welcome: to Sysnative forum.

It seems you got a bad download! try to download the file again using a different browser and save the file to other location.

To install the driver try to right click the file WacomTablet_6.3.29-6.exe and select Run as Administrator.

Thanks, I downloaded it with Google Chrome and that seemed to work, I was able to install the driver. I thought maybe it was a registry problem, as it happened after I updated Windows

Regardless, it's fixed now - Thank you very much!

Hi,

I'm glad it worked. Just in case you should run a disk check.

ยป Check the Disk for Errors
  • open the Command Prompt as Administrator (Tutorial)
  • type the command:
    Code:
    chkdsk /r /x C:
Note: When it ask if you want to checked the volume next time the system restarts answer Yes
  • Restart the Computer and let the check run during boot, it will take some time...

Next,
  • download ListChkdskResult
  • execute the file and accept all the windows prompts to authorize the program to run
  • Notepad will open with a report showing the chkdsk result
  • copy & paste the log to your reply
