[SOLVED] Can't install updates 3019978, 3022777, 3021674

My machine has not been able to install these since early 2015. Almost all other updates have installed without issue. All updates fail with error code 800B0100. There are a few updates also listed as "Failed" in the update history but these three have all failed dozens of times. I haven't noticed any symptoms. I have run Avast Antivirus since this computer was purchased and uninstalled yesterday to see if that helped the update issue (it didn't). I am nearly certain I don't have virus/malware problems. SFCFix Script

Warning: this fix is specific to the user in this thread. No one else should follow these instructions as it may cause more harm than good. If you are after assistance, please start a thread of your own.


  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download the file below, SFCFix.zip, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFix.zip - do not rename it.
  3. Save any open documents and close all open windows.
  4. On your Desktop, you should see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFix.zip.
  5. Drag the file SFCFix.zip onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  6. SFCFix will now process the script.
  7. Upon completion, a file should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  8. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this file into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.


Afterwards, run SURT and attach CheckSUR.log.

Sorry, I got excited and replied before I read to the end. I just attached it in the previous post.
 
Install Update with DISM




  1. Download this update and save to your desktop. The file name will be Windows6.1-KB3021674-x64.cab.zip.
  2. Right-click on this file and select Extract All... Click the Extract button. You can close the folder window that opens
  3. Click on the Start button and in the search box, type Command Prompt
  4. When you see Command Prompt on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator. Go ahead and allow if you receive the UAC prompt.
  5. Copy and paste the following command into the command prompt window and press enter.

    dism /online /add-package /packagepath:%userprofile%\desktop\Windows6.1-KB3021674-x64.cab\Windows6.1-KB3021674-x64.cab
  6. You should receive the message:
    The operation completed successfully.
    Restart Windows to complete this operation. <---You may not get this line.
    Do you want to restart the computer now (Y/N)? <---You may not get this line.


Go ahead and do so if prompted. Let me know what errors if any come up. If you do get errors, please zip/attach your CBS.log
