Hi!

Please do the following:

Step#1 - Export CBS hive
  • Click on the Start button and in the search box, type regedit
  • When you see regedit on the list, right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
  • When regedit opens, using the left pane, navigate to the following registry key and select it by clicking on it once.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing
  • Once selected, click File > Export....
  • Change the Save as type: to Registry Hive Files (.).
  • Name this file ComponentBasedServicing (with no file extension) and save it to your Desktop.
  • Right-click on the saved file and choose Send To -> Compressed (zipped) Folder.
  • Attach the .ZIP file to your next post.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload to Dropbox or OneDrive or SendSpace and just provide the link here.

Really? :(
Oh god, this is the unique DC. This happen just because i updated it. Have a chance for me to find the update corrupted and delete it from the registry? I think the netframework caused it.

Thanks softwaremaniac

No, it didn't. Your hive must have been corrupt before that, because it has literally a few keys when it's supposed to have hundreds if not thousands. As the hive is unique for every system, there's no chance of repair.

If it was a corrupt update, I'd root it out in a second.

Sorry for the delay to answer you.
This server is the only one on the network and has less than 2 weeks, I needed to install windows server backup and then came across this problem, which I suspected was some update days before. So this server has no backup, but already has a structure of gpo, AD DNS and now I do not know what to do, since you told me that the only solution is to do an in-place upgrade. I am seeing some tool to back up the AD structure so do the procedure and not risk losing everything, would you have any tips?

Thanks for helping me softwaremaniac.
