Can't get Windows Update to install, Install error - 0x800f081f. Components hive is probably corrupted.

After running ComponentsScanner.exe, I found that alot of registry keys and files are missing. Most if not all of these files end in the .cat file extension. I don't understand any of this Windows stuff(I'm a Linux user), I would really appreciate all help.

Step 1. Run the following DISM command and post the result.
Code:
DISM /online /cleanup-image /RestoreHealth


Step 2. Attach a copy of the CBS log(s).
  • Open Windows Explorer and browse to the C:\Windows\Logs folder.
  • Right-click on the CBS folder and choose Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder.
  • Now the message will appear, "Windows cannot create the Compressed (zipped) Folder here. Do you want it to be placed on the desktop instead?"
  • Click on the Yes button here.

  • Attach the file CBS.zip to your next reply.

Upload your COMPONENTS hive.
  • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\Config and locate the COMPONENTS file.
  • Please copy this file to your desktop.
  • Note: If you receive an error that this file is in-use, simply reboot your computer and try again.
  • Right-click on this file on your desktop and select Send To > Compressed (zipped) folder. This will create a file named COMPONENTS.ZIP on your desktop.
  • If the file is too large to upload here, upload the file to www.wetransfer.com and post the link in your next reply.

  • Download the attachment SFCFix.zip and save it to your desktop.

Have you run SFCFix with the ZIP-file before a normal scan with SFCFix, if so please provide that logfile from C:\SFCFix.

You have started SFCFix.exe the normal way, but you'll need to drag and drop the attached SFCFix.xip over the executable, as described in post#6.

The update was going well up until it hit 34% in the installing stage. When it hit 34% it skyrocketed to 100% then it gave me this error.1680968814513.png
