CPU: Intel i5-2500K
Desktop system built from components
Video card: EVGA GTX 760
Power supply : Corsair Gold 850
Motherboard: ASRock Z77 Extreme 4 (BIOS 2.90)

I would appreciate any help in solving this problem.

A Generic Level 2 cache error is consistent in the primary processor of the 5th memory bank.
I'm almost certain we have a failing CPU here.

Are you overclocking? If so reset the CMOS or restore the BIOS to default values.
Check if your CPU is overheating. Use Speccy to monitor your temperatures.
Do you have any bloatware installed by manufacturers? e.g. HP or ASUS, If so remove them.

If the answer is no to all of them, check to see if your CPU is still under warranty, if so then RMA it.

Thanks for your comments.

Answering your questions... (1) am not overclocking, (2) cpu core temperatures are well below max (all four cores range between 20-30 deg C monitored with Core Temp) and (3) no bloatware that I'm aware -- the system was built by me from components and finally (4) the cpu is no longer covered by warranty.

I guess it's time to upgrade.

Thanks again.

Jared.

Ran three diagnostic utilities for several hours without errors: (1) Intel Processor Diagnostic, (2) PRIME2 and (3) Memtest. Would have thought failing CPU error would appear. I've noticed that BSODs occur most frequently when running graphics intensive games. Thinking that video card might be the source of the problem, I also ran EVGAs video memory card diagnostic. It passed! Wonder if my 4 year old Corsair AX950 PSU might be the cause the errors you saw in my error file?

It could be, although the dump files still point to a failing CPU.
