Hi,

Win 7 Pro 32 bit system.

Can't do an in-place upgrade to Win 10.

Gets error:

0xc1900101 0x30017 the installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during the BOOT operation

Originally there were Win 7 Update issues. I fixed those. Got a clean Win 7 update. Passed sfc /scannow. Everything was OK.

But no luck. Win 10 Upgrade still fails with the error above.

All Win 7 logs are in the zip file below, plus the Panther folder.

It backed out Win 10 and I'm back to Win 7.

Logs are here: DBDAN22 - WIN 10 UPGRADE FAILURE.zip

Please help.

Thanks,
Dan

Hi!

Step#1 - FRST Scan

1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 32-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Right-click FRST.exe and click Run as Administrator to run it as administrator. When the tool opens, click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Please ensure you place a check mark in the Addition.txt check box at the bottom of the form before running (if not already checked).
4. Press Scan button.
5. It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should now be the desktop)
6. Please attach the log back here.
7. Another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST64.exe) will be generated Please also attach that along with the FRST.txt in your reply.

Hey softwaremaniac,

So let me give you some background info about this particular system which should shed some light on the situation. Something dawned on me which I should have thought of to begin with before posting. Better late than never.

The hard drive image originally came from a Windows 2000 (!) PC, which was upgraded to XP and then Win 7 and now Win 10. There are some ancient drivers around which Win 10 doesn't know what to do with. They should have been removed long ago.

What I should do is start uninstalling stuff and then try again. If you see something that jumps out at you please let me know, but I should start removing obvious stuff before bothering you. Iomega driver??!?!?!?? Please. When was the last time you saw an Iomega disk (SMH).

frst.txt & addition.txt attached.

Thanks in advance.

I'm thinking SoundMAX and Intel Network Connections 18.3.62.0 would be a good bet too....

Anything else jump out at you?

Thanks.
