I have been trying to upgrade my PC from Win 7 to Win 10 without success. The upgrade fails every time with a pop up at end and no error messages. "WIN 10 UPGRADE FAILED"

The last time it went all the way to 73% on the Blue Screen during the upgrade.

I have run SFC without errors. DISM finds 2 errors related to AVAST that I had uninstalled almost 2 years ago. CheckSUR.log is posted below:

Have no idea how to get rid of these. Avast Premium Tech support was no help, they just remotely logged in and deleted a bunch of Windows Registry entries.

I am running the SFCFix now and will post the results shortly.

I can upload the log files from the Win 10 upgrade if needed. One is too large, but the error log file is not that big.

Thanks

Muhammad

Hello and welcome!

Step#1 - FRST Scan

1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Right-click FRST64.exe and click Run as Administrator to run it as administrator. When the tool opens, click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Please ensure you place a check mark in the Addition.txt check box at the bottom of the form before running (if not already checked).
4. Press Scan button.
5. It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should now be the desktop)
6. Please attach the log back here.
7. Another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST64.exe) will be generated Please also attach that along with the FRST.txt in your reply.

Zonealarm not in the programs and features list
gemalto not in programs and features list

Comodo is my AV and Firewall, you really want me remove it?

fresh scan? U mean FRST or SFCFix?

Thanks

M.

softwaremaniac,

So I went into the registry and manually deleted every avast and correct aws key and reran the DISM tool, and now I have no errors.

Thanks for trying to help but I was really not sure how to uninstall a program that did not show up in program and feature window, like the Zonealarm Find My laptop and gemalto.

Thanks anyway

M.

So can you guide me how to uninstall those hidden applications? I am lost. Specially ZoneAlarm Find my laptop and Gemalto?

Thanks

M.

Step#1 - FRST Fix
NOTICE: This script was written specifically for this user, for use on that particular machine. Running this on another machine may cause damage to your operating system
1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Download the attached fixlist.txt and save it to the Desktop.
Note. It's important that both files, FRST64 and fixlist.txt are in the same location or the fix will not work (in this case...the desktop).
3. Run FRST64 by Right-Clicking on the file and choosing Run as administrator.
4. Press the Fix button just once and wait. If for some reason the tool needs a restart, please make sure you let the system restart normally. After that let the tool complete its run.
5. When finished FRST64 will generate a log on the Desktop (Fixlog.txt). Please post the contents of it in your reply.

Please check whether they show up after the fix.
