I have approximately 50 PCs running Windows 7 Pro on a domain (single site) that I am trying to upgrade to Windows 10 Pro.
We have tried the installation on about 15 of the machines and none have succeeded... they reach the migration stage and revert back to Win7.
I have run all Windows Updates, updated all drivers, cleaned unnecessary user profiles, run disk cleaner to remove all temp and windows update files, etc. Removed unnecessary software applications.
Ran chkdsk /f, sfc /scannow.
I have removed all antivirus and disabled Windows Defender and Windows Firewall.... to no avail.
So, here are the steps in the guidelines for this forum:
1. Run SFC Scan - done (Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations - ok)
2. Run System Update Readiness Tool (ran this on 5 different machines... one never finished initializing to start installation, installation on others ran for approximately 2hrs then failed).
3. Run SFCFix:
SFCFix version 3.0.2.1 by niemiro.
Start time: 2020-01-06 21:50:03.429
Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 - amd64
Not using a script file.

The only other things I can think of are 1) there is perhaps something in group policy that I am overlooking that may be preventing the upgrade, or 2) Old remnants of Avast! Antivirus... I have had problems with machines that once had Avast, but was able to get it removed and install the upgrade successfully, but this site once ran managed Avast on all machines and I don't believe it was removed correctly (before my time), as the majority of the machines have an Avast miniport adapter in the network adapters in device manager as well as avast files and registry entries. I have run the avastclear application, but it doesn't work because this was the Business edition with password protection against tampering and uninstallation. I went through one of the machines with a fine tooth comb and removed all files, miniport adapter, and went through registry and deleted all keys I could find with "avast"... I had to take ownership and change permissions on many of the keys in order to delete them, but the upgrade still failed on this machine too.
Any help would be appreciated!!
