Hi all,

I've been trying for many hours now to get SP1 to install on this machine. I've run the SURT several times, ran sfc /scannow, renamed the windowsdistribution\download folder, and several other things but it just won't install. I've used the online version of Windows update as well as downloaded the 950mb full install and it seems to fail with the same problem each time - Error 0x80073701. I've gone through the log files as best I can and it seems to be related to a problem with one of the components or packages (not sure I'm using that term right). Here are 2 lines from the CBS.log that seem relevant:

2014-09-10 00:12:02, Info CBS Failed to pin deployment while resolving Update: bxnd60a from file: (null) [HRESULT = 0x80073701 - ERROR_SXS_ASSEMBLY_MISSING]
2014-09-10 00:12:02, Info CBS Failed to resolve item[0] in Package: Microsoft-Windows-Client-Wired-Network-Drivers-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.7601.17514, Update: bxnd60a [HRESULT = 0x80073701 - ERROR_SXS_ASSEMBLY_MISSING]

I will be uploading a copy of the CBS.log, checksur.log, and checksur.persist.logs for review. I'm only seeing 2 errors in the logs, so I'm hoping this will be an easy one.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello sbranham and welcome to Sysnative :)

First of all I am sorry for the delay in responding to your thread. The two files that were identified by SURT are two registry keys. I would like to take a look at your WIndows Update registry to try and get these fixed up.

Code:
Checking Component Store
(f)	CSI Missing Identity	0x00000000	appid	dde46218820..c2b4aa77f2e_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16410_dc7455d2ef7630cd
(f)	CSI C Mark Deployment Missing	0x00000000	c!25834fµcbb4..a´97b38b0³7_31bf3856ad364d35_6.1.·600.16402_1347b±7e6906e³57	amd64_25834f5cbb49deabdacb0a497b38b037_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7600.16402_none_1347b17e6906e257

SFCFix Collect COMPONENTS
  1. Download SFCFix.exe (by niemiro) and save this to your Desktop.
  2. Download SFCFixScript.txt, and save this to your Desktop. Ensure that this file is named SFCFixScript.txt - do not rename it.
  3. On your Desktop, you should now see two files: SFCFix.exe and SFCFixScript.txt.
  4. Drag the file SFCFixScript.txt onto the file SFCFix.exe and release it.
  5. SFCFix will now begin to upload your CBS logfiles to our server.
  6. Upon completion, a log should be created on your Desktop: SFCFix.txt.
  7. Copy (Ctrl+C) and Paste (Ctrl+V) the contents of this into your next post for me to analyse please - put [CODE][/CODE] tags around the log to break up the text.

If all goes well, you should see that your logfiles have now been added to your thread.

Ok. Log file posted. Not much to speak of right now. Hopefully you got what you need.
