Hi guys, I'm trying to install KB4462919 on a Windows 10 laptop, 64 bits, version 1803. It runs to about 30%, hangs a bit and then restarts and shows it's undoing the changes.

I have tried from Windows updates and manually, doing both the Cumulative and the Delta updates, with the same results.

Step #2: No errors
Step #3: No errors

Step #5: Dropbox - CBS.zip

All your help is very appreciated!

Hello and welcome! Can you start by temporarily uninstalling your antivirus software with the vendor's removal tool and then retrying updates? If using Windows Defender, disabling it, may be enough.

If updates still happen to fail, please attach CBS.log and C:\Windows\Inf\setupapi.dev.log.

Thanks for your quick response.

I forgot, I had already uninstalled Symantec Endpoint Protection, the company standard antivirus. I have disabled Defender, and trying to install right now.

Any preference on which one to do? Windows Updates, Cumulative or Delta update?

Thanks!

Step#1 - FRST Scan

1. Please download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: You need to run the 64-bit Version so please ensure you download that one.
2. Right click to run as administrator. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
3. Please ensure you place a check mark in the Addition.txt check box at the bottom of the form before running (if not already).
4. Press Scan button.
5. It will produce a log called FRST.txt in the same directory the tool is run from (which should now be the desktop)
6. Please attach the log back here.
7. Another log (Addition.txt - also located in the same directory as FRST64.exe) will be generated Please also attach that along with the FRST.txt in your reply.

Hey guys,

I was able to update my windows 10 version from 1803 to 1809, that was re-released a couple of days ago. So I don't need to install KB4462919 anymore.

Thanks a lot for your help.
