[SOLVED] Cannot install KB3126587 KB3071756 KB3060716 KB3042058

I am updating a netbook Win 7 Starter edition that has not been updated since August 2015.

I cannot install the following important updates: KB3126587, KB3071756, KB3060716, and KB3042058.
WU shows a code 80070490.

I have tried the SURT (which shows no errors), the MS Fixit for Windows Update problems (which shows an unfixed registry error), SFC /scannow (which alternately seems to show corruptions that can't be repaired, and corruptions that have been repaired) and SFCFix which shows (also attached):

SFCFix version 3.0.0.0 by niemiro.

Alternatively, I could try this? Microsoft overhauls Windows 7 and 8.1 updating -- but don't call it a service pack | InfoWorld but there is no guarantee that would work either ...

Btw I did try manually downloading updating these KBs also.

This problem seems to have resolved itself and may be marked as solved ...
After installing all optional updates (except driver updates), these important KB's installed.
Who would have thought important updates could be dependent on optional updates, recommended or not, but there you go!
