Can I ask first why you want to restore this computer all the way back to the factory settings? Maybe we can help fix what is currently wrong with it instead.
Going back to the factory settings will surely set the computer way back in security updates. If it is because you don't like W10, for security reasons alone, it would be better to get W10 working correctly. From there, there are several free or very low cost ($5) apps like my favorite Start10 for $4.99 (has free 30-day trial period) or the free Classic Shell you can use to make W10 look and feel like W7.
That said, it also seems many Acer users have the same problem and I note in this Acer forum thread, contacting Acer tech support resorted in Acer creating new recovery media. You might contact them and see if they can help.
Thanks for the reply. I would like to do a factory reset because as a owner of this computer i should have the option to reset my computer when i choose too. Also i have other issues with this computer such as all the usb ports are not recognizing my flash drives, since i brought this computer about a year ago from a computer re-seller it seem as thou that notall of the previous owners works are erase. If you will be kind enough to help me reset my computer back to factory default it would be greatly appreciated.
Please understand this is not an unwillingness on my part to help. I just don't know what to suggest. And since now we learn you purchased this computer used, that could easily suggest the previous owner deleted the recovery partition and that could very well be why you cannot reset it back to the factory settings. I am afraid your only recourse with best chances of total success is for you to buy a new Windows 7 license - or you purchase a recovery disk directly from Acer. Note when you were sold this computer, you should have been given all the disks and recovery tools that came with it when new. Sadly, that often does not happen.
As far as having the option to reset the computer when you choose because you own it, I fully understand. But there are two issues to that. First, users don't own their copy of Windows. We own a license to use it. And we agree to use it in accordance to the terms of the End User License Agreement (EULA) when we decide to keep using the product. Second, my concern about going back to W7 is just that it is already 7 years old. Mainstream support from Microsoft already ended in January of 2015. Critical security updates are still supported until 2020, but that's it. Any other bugs (such as hardware support) will go unfixed. W10 is more secure and faster right out of the box and will continue to be fully supported for years to come. So it is best, if possible, to use W10. But of course, the hardware must support W10 and that is up to the hardware makers to develop the necessary W10 drivers - something many makers won't do with their legacy products.
Thanks for clearing something up because i was beginning to think that maybe you didn't want to work that hard on helping me. This is a windows 7 32 bit starter with no cd/ dvd slot how can i purchase a recovery disk via usb recovery, and that is another problem i have because all my usb flash drive are not currently working which i posted also to the forum 5 days ago. Lets do this Digerati i have a current post on usb drives not working if we can fix that first so that i can use my flash drive then i can get a recovery disk and develop a recovery usb.
