Hi I got a bunch of the same bsod (0x124) this week, Ive been into different forums and diagnosis,. I'm still in the process of solving the problem. so now I just want to ask if it is possible that the PSU causes a bsod? I mean if the psu is not that powerful would it cause a computer to bsod? I got a GTX 260 and the minimum psu for this one is 500W, I got it working for 4 months without any problem with a 450W.

So as I said I got several bsods this week. but when I disconnect some hardwares like unused DVD rom and two extra fans. It seems that bsod is not occurring anymore. I dont know if what I'm thinking about the situation is correct.

I just need an experts confirmation. thanks for your response!

Yes it's very possible for the PSU to cause it, anything from low voltage to voltage spikes can cause it, overloading the a power supply can cause both of those issues.
Low voltage can be checked using software like Hardware Monitor voltage fluctuation or spikes would take more sophisticated equipment and a professional that would cost more then a top of the line proper size PSU.
