I’ve been attempting to perform an upgrade from Windows 7 SP1 x64 to Windows 10 but every time the install fails with an error code of “0x8007001F – 0x20006 The installation failed in the SAFE_OS phase with an error during REPLICATE_OC operation.” When I perform a sfc /scannow I receive the error “Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.” When I perform a check for windows updates I get the error code 80073712. I’ve run SFCfix, performed an update readiness, attached my CBS folder, and my C:\Windows\System32\config\COMPONENETS file.

Hello,

As you will know some of our helpers have increased workloads professionally, and this has resulted in a slower response time for Windows Update threads.

I am checking to see if you still need help with this thread. If so please respond and this will bring your thread to our attention again. Thank you for your patience.

Hello and welcome,

Sorry but your components file is corrupted beyond repair.
If you have a full system backup we may try to see if the backup contain a valid components hive.
If not, backup all your important files and install Windows 10 from scratch.
Or buy a new system with Windows 10 pre-installed.
You can use the Windows 7 machine as a backup and/or transfer your data to the new machine.
